About CEDS

Colne Engaine Dramatic Society is a relaxed and fun group of amateurs who don’t take ourselves too seriously but do like to give our audiences value for money and a good evening out!

Each year we stage three productions – a panto in late January, a dramatic performance in May and a supper evening in September.

We meet on Wednesdays at 7.30pm in the Colne Engaine Village Hall to prepare and rehearse.

We have our own lighting and sound equipment and are able to construct substantial sets well in advance of productions, enabling rehearsals to take place on-stage, with props in situ.

The group enjoys an active social life, with various events organised throughout the year for us to relax together and cement friendships formed on stage.

Each year we enter the North Essex Theatre Guild Awards and we are proud to have been nominated repeatedly and even won a few awards!

We welcome new members, both on and off stage,so if you fancy treading the boards, helping with staging or front of house, please pop into the Village Hall on any Wednesday evening from 7.30pm.
